Sports injuries
We treat a wide range of sports injuries, recent and long-standing, and teach training techniques that help keep overuse injuries from coming back.

From a doctor who still races
Dr. Toomey is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and an athlete himself: a former college soccer player in the Saint Vincent College Athletics Hall of Fame, who still competes in triathlons, running events and adventure races. He knows first-hand what an injury means to an athlete, physically and emotionally, and that shapes the care he gives.
How we treat sports injuries
- Adjustments (manipulation) of the spine and of the joints of the arms and legs
- Ultrasound and electric stimulation
- Myofascial release and trigger point therapy
- Rehab and exercise programs that get you back to full strength
These treatments don’t stop at the symptoms: they go after the cause of the injury, so you come back stronger than before.
Preventing the next one
Most overuse injuries can be prevented. We teach training techniques and programs that improve your performance and lower the risk of the next injury, so you can keep doing the sport you love.
Training behind it
- Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (National College of Chiropractic)
- Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner
- Rehabilitation and Advanced Exercise Certification (Palmer Institute for Professional Advancement)
- Exercise Physiology and the Endurance Athlete (American College of Sports Medicine)
- Courses in extremity rehabilitation, stabilization and rotator cuff injuries

A patient’s story
I have been a patient at Toomey Chiropractic Center for over 15 years now, and the level of care has never wavered. Dr. Toomey's ability to proactively manage my back and joint pain has quite literally been life-changing.
