His story

Dr. Toomey earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, in 1987, and his Doctor of Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, in 1991. After practising in Belle Vernon and Charleroi, he opened Toomey Chiropractic Center at 5355 Library Road in Bethel Park in November 1999.

He became a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, and his own sport explains why: a former college soccer player, inducted into the Saint Vincent College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011, he still competes in triathlons, running events and adventure races. He understands the physical and emotional needs of an injured athlete.

He also holds a fellowship in the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, which lets him focus on the care of infants, children and expectant mothers.

He keeps learning: over the years he has trained in flexion-distraction with Dr. James Cox, in extremity adjusting and rehabilitation, stabilization and exercise, posture rehabilitation and auto injuries, and he keeps up with chiropractic, rehabilitation and alternative medicine.
